This is one of
my first items not built from a plan. It's a simple design and
makes nice use of the scrap pieces I've been keeping around from
various projects. Plus it's Christmas time, and I think my family
will like these small CD racks as gifts.
I started by making
a template for cutting and drilling holes. Then I cut all the
required pieces to dimension.
Next the router
table is set up to round over side pieces and the front rail.
Now holes are drilled for dowels
to fit into and for front rail screws.
The the back rail ends and side
pieces are cut with dovetail joints.
Finally the whole assembly is
glued together and screw holes are plugged with walnut caps.
After finishing, here's how the
Christmas presents turned out.
